Ways of Seeing is a new permanent exhibition at the Museum of Art in Łódź, presenting a multifaceted narrative of 20th- and 21st-century art, as well as the museum’s own history as a space of artistic experimentation, avant-garde ideas, and solidarity.
The exhibition explores the phenomenon of seeing—not only as a biological function, but also as a cultural and political act. Structured around several thematic chapters, it presents art as a means of inquiry, raising questions about how and why we look. Themes include the interplay between vision and memory, the social dimensions of perception, seeing as both knowledge and resistance, and reflections on identity, the body, and the sensory experience of reality.
