The exhibition presents a blend of historical and contemporary artworks from the Devonshire Collections, complemented by significant loans from national and international museums, as well as newly commissioned pieces by contemporary artists.
Drawing inspiration from the estate, The Gorgeous Nothings pays tribute to a rich legacy of landscape designers, gardeners, scientists, and botanists who, over the past six centuries, have planted, collected, foraged, studied, and preserved a remarkable array of botanical treasures at Chatsworth — from rare botanical books and illustrated manuscripts in the library to prized specimens found throughout the gardens and grounds.
