Frank Bowling: New York, 1969

SFMOMA · 6:00

Transnational abstract painter Frank Bowling began his career in London and visited Guyana before arriving in New York in 1966. The decade he spent there was transformative for his practice and was the birthplace of major bodies of work, including his oceanic map paintings. This short joins the artist in his studio in 1969 for a conversation about his practice and a spray-paint stencil demonstration.
