Invisible Luggage explores what is lost and what is maintained as we travel, migrate and carry on. Highlighting the legacy of the Historic Hampton House, a Green Book hotel during the height of segregation, works on view address expansiveness and freedom of movement, alongside the dangers of movement and the need for refuge and resistance. Invisible Luggage pays homage to what is preserved within us even as we move and migrate, the important cultural and personal symbols that maintain us even as our environments change, and the memories both precious and traumatic that make us who we are and which we can never outrun.
